Bethany Beach Band Stand 7-26-23

ABOUT

The Teenage Satellites are a pop/rock/alternative band from Lewes/Rehoboth, Delaware, ranging in ages from 13 to 16.

The band is brothers Jamie Whitten, 16, guitar/vocals and Brayden Whitten, 13, bass/vocals; Anna Currence, 14, lead vocals; Jasper Isaacs, 16, lead guitar; and Jase Truitt, 16, drums/vocals.

The Satellites formed in December 2021 as Jamie, Brayden, and Jase started getting together.  Deciding they needed a lead singer, they reached out to Anna who came to a practice and the four of them meshed well.  The quartet practiced 3 times that first week and headed out to a "Young Musicians Showcase" where they played well and received some good feedback. The Teenage Satellites were born.

A week later, they booked their first gig, and when a conflict arose, Jamie asked his good friend Jasper to fill in for him for the night.  The five of them practiced together for a month preparing for the show.  As fate would have it, the conflict was canceled and all 5 played the show.  Afterwards, Jasper joined the band for good, and there were now 5 Satellites.

Over the last 2.5 years, the band has played at many of of the areas local venues including: Revelations at Hudson Fields, Bethany Blues Lewes, Crooked Hammock Lewes, The Pond, Rusty Rudder, The Millville Boardwalk, Rehoboth Ale House, Big Oyster Brewery, Mispillion River Brewing (Milford), Thompson Island, West Side Creative Market, and Freddies Beach Bar.  They played an electric show at the Bethany Beach Bandstand in July 2023, and in Fall of 2023, played two shows at Schellville, a big holiday event in Rehoboth.

Out of the area, they’ve played at DECO in Wilmington, DE, and in March 2023, the Teenage Satellites played the legendary Dobbs on South (formerly J.C. Dobbs) in Philadelphia.  Alumni of this venue include: Metallica, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Soul Asylum, The Offspring, Green Day, and others.  They are scheduled to play at the 2024 Doylestown Oktoberfest and Skateboard Jam at the Doylestown (PA) Skate Park.
